Overclocking an SP
Does anyone know the crystal oscillators speed for the sp or has anyone done it? Just want to see if I have the crystal to do it before i open it.

4.19 for the sp. Check out the sticky at the top of this forum for infor on overclocking. I never could get my sp to overclock, but somebody in japan did it, so it is doable.

Thanks, I used that tutorial for overclocking my GBC and that runs at around 8 so i put a 16mhz in thier. When you tried overclocking your sp did you remove the crystal or leave it in like you did in the GBA, for my color i had to remove it and reattach it differently by having one crystal on each side of a switch, then the other ends of the crystals connect to one connection on the gameboy and then have the middle lead of the switch go to the other connection on the gameboy. This is what i will try with my SP once i get the right crystal, the lowest i have now is 12mhz

Re: Overclocking an SP
you mean my tutorial? I wouldn't use 16 mhz for a gba because that would make it way too fast.I used that tutorial for overclocking my GBC and that runs at around 8 so i put a 16mhz in thier

No i used 16 on a GBC and will use 8 or 10 on my sp. Would 10mhz be dangerous for the sp?

10 mhz shouldn't be bad. Just don't go too high over that. Which giude did you use?

Re: Overclocking an SP
I tried using the guide on the sticky but couldn't get work, i mainly just heard about overclocking from it. Once i couldnt get the guide to work i came up with my own method, that prolly has been done before but I did it myself.
