Toilet Questions. Help?

I have a question regarding our second-floor toilet. So I was messing around with it, flushing it hard many many times for the hell of it and then suddenly the lift rod snapped. Well, then after my parents were angry at me (didn't ground me, so eh..) they replaced it. Sure it flushes as it should however since the rod was replaced it is a hit or miss scenario. There are three problems to the toilet. Anyone knows how to fix them?

Problem 1: The float ball gets caught under the flapper. Sometimes, the ball goes so low that the flapper rests on top of the ball. The toilet tank wouldn't fill up, so you have to open the top and lift the ball manually.

Problem 2: The chain gets caught under the flapper. Leaves a really small gap then the tank would prevent filling. Would be fixed by pressing the lever, unless the ball decides to go down and sit there and resorting me to opening the toilet tank. Again.

Problem 3: Unless you hold down the lever for some time (risking chain and ball trappage), the toilet bowl would fill around 25% of the "usual" water level it used to have. Then when someone takes a crap on it, the crap hits the porcelain leaving "gravy stains" on it to "surprise" the next "user." The "gravy stains" persist until flushed many times. I'm effing serious.

Anyone can help me out?

P.S: The flush valve float is missing. Would that cause a problem?

Problem 1: The Tank water level is dropping too low obviously...I'd try to raise the water level, that might help that.

Problem 2: Your lack of flush valve float might definetly be the cause for this problem. If you don't have a float for it, try tightening the chain a bit. if your can is like mine, you can just unhook the top chain link and hook it to a lower link.

Problem 3: This might also be beacuse the water level in the tank is dropping too low. Again, try to raise the water level in the tank a bit.

There's my thoughts. I'm no plumber, but I've fiddled with many a can over time, and know a little bit about it Hope it helps.

Ok, so I think I fixed all three by adjusting the tension of the chain.

I've never used a float for the chain (I like that the fluidmaster ones float by themselves), but, instead I usually just use less chain. I've had some experience with toilets (and lots of other plumbing).

I was gonna say they all sounded like chain issues. Glad you got it working. I grew up working in a hardware store, so I used to see these problems a lot. lol
