Well Hey there guys! I've been wanting to start a console project for awhile now, and Im debating what console to choose. I think that both consoles are great, but My question currently is, Whats better for a portable and just in general. One thing im worried about is nes games not working, I mean there pretty old now, Don't a lot of them have trouble?
Anyway opinions

Re: Nes vs snes
Isn't the snes pretty old too? like, almost 20 years old?
Age doesn't matter. People make atari portables too and those are thirty years old now.
Topics like this should be locked. Thare is already one like this one right now. It's all a matter of your own opinion on what console to use and you shouldn't have to ask. The nes and snes are equally good for a potable. They are easily hackable. But It depends on what you want to play: nes games, or snes games.

Re: Nes vs snes
Use a retro duo, and have both!
In all seriousness, a SNES is probably better for portabilizing, if a little harder. With the NES the board is huge. The SNES mini is pretty small. Of course there are small clones of both. If you consider that the NES is smaller but most clones are not too great. But the final decision should be based on which one you like better.

If your new to this and you want to do the easier one first then go with nes, but if your up for the challenge go with SNES.

Re: Nes vs snes
I'm seriously considering doing what bacteria attempted with that N64 to my NES board. I don't think it would be too hard to do for an NES.
