PSone screen Green problem

Post by AngelArm1110 »

i imagine this topic has been brought up before, but is there some trick to getting a psone screen to work on anything but a psone, because i plugged it into the back of my ps3 to test it out, and the screen appeared very green, and with some scanlines on the top. any tidbits or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

fyi, im trying to make ti work for a ps2 ultimately

dont quote me on this, but i have heard that the ps2 and ps3 output a green tint after 30 minutes of play time when the device it is outputting video to has a nonstandard response, so because the screen is small, the system thinks it is some type of evil device.

hmm, that does seem plausible, considering the ps3 being an advanced system would probably have some kind of S.M.A.R.T. system in it for detecting video settings and the like. well i doesnt matter because i found a pretty good deal on some zenith ps2 screens, that where obviously built for the system i want to use it on, so i think i'll just pick up a few of them. thanks for the responce :)

actually, most of the zenith ps2 screens are identical to the sony ps1 screen. exactly the same. they are just a different plastic casing. its the same circuit board and everything!

No, all are the exact same, they just have a different case (and AV plug, of course...)
This is probably because you are trying to use RGB with the psone screen. This is only known to happen when you use RGB. If you use composite, you will be compromising some slight visual downgrade, but you won't have the greening problem.
Hope that helped.
PS, don't get the zenith ps2 screens if you already have a psone screen, as they're the same anyway. Unless you want to have them on had\nd, because I don't think you can have enough of those screens, they are so awesome.
That's all.
