GRRRR! Memory card relocation not working!!

Ok, I've relocated the memory card slot on the gamecube, but every time I try to play, It says that there is no memory card in slot A. I reattached every wire, and I also tried reattaching the metal outer shield to ground, but that didn't work. I used 24 guage stranded wire because I like to save my 30 for smaller projects. The wires are 6 inches long. The only reason that I could see the card no working is if that cable are too long or too big, but I seriously doubt that. So, is there anything special that I'm missing that you have to do when relocating the memory card slot?

Shortening your wires might help, but try connecting pin 12 to pin 1(sense to sense) this might help you.

I'll try reconnecting them today, I re-connected the farthest one to the farthes one on the board, and continued from there, I'll just try shorter wires today. After I get my n64 rewired.

Alright I got it fixed, along with my n64. I reduced the wire by 2 inches and replaced the wire with my precious gamecube controller 30 gauge wire. Now it works perfectly. Thanks guys.
