Laptop keys

Post by hotfootball2000 »

Hi i have an hp laptop and the j key fell out so we put it back in now only some of the keys on the right side, such as enter bspace slash and a few others dont work. Whats wierd is that some of the keys surrounded by unworking ones do work.

So my question is how do i fix this problem?

The ribbon cable between the keyboard and motherboard may have come out halfway.

1) Do you mean "won't press down" or "works mechanically but not electrically"?
2) Worst-case scenario: try buying a replacement.

Plug an external USB or PS/2 keyboard in. Does that work properly?
