Okay. I broke my 72 pin connector(forgot you bend the bottom pins, not the top ones...and I broke the plastic bit, now the pins just jam together, then when tryiong to bend it back up, I completely ripped the pin out. yay me! This only gave me an excuse to finally buy or make a new connector. Well after salvaging parts from an old dell computer, I have this ISA card, with 2 ISA ports, and 2 PCI ports. I have checked and the pins match up for the smaller sections on the slot. I would have a gap in the middle of the game but who cares, those pins aren't used. Now my problem is the solder joints are like a mm big. MY solder sucking bulb won't take any of it, and I have no way of prying the thing out...do I need a solder vaccuum or does it no matter, I can't use it? help???

Desoldering braid. Actually I just use a sucker, but it would a PITA to do that many pins.

Solder Sucker-good for not-so-many pins, good for large pins
Solder Braid-good for small joints.

Okay. I'll go buy some tomorrow. I should then have enough parts to make three pin connectors. I've already bent all the pins on my old ones, and they don't work anymore. I just redid the bending and they still don't work. Seems they corroded but eraser won't get rid of it... Ah well. Thanks!

I'll think about it. I'll see how the desoldering goes. If it does work out I have a plan to save everybody cart slot rewiring. I just have to look into wiring cart slots on NOACS and then I can devsie my plan...

I dunno if it helps but a heat gun / hairdyer with the fan blocked can be great for baking off parts with 50 pins.

I just use the propane torch
