I'm surprised that the bat didn't cause a slight imbalance that would cause the spacecraft to crash. Some of those spacecraft are VERY sensitive.

It was on the large fuel tank, which drops off and falls back to earth. Basically, if it wasn't cooked on the way up, it was frozen at that point. And then cooked.

I have a feeling the little bat was dead as soon as the rockets fired--the decibel level of those rockets going is is more than loud enough to kill an unprotected human. The little critter didn't have enough time to even realise the rockets were firing (if it could realise things, that is)
