My Moded Guitar Hero guitar

For as long as I've been playing GH, I've hated the button placements on the guitar neck. The best way that I can play is to pop my pinky finger out of socket to hit the high notes. Yesterday my guitar went sailing into the livingroom floor, breaking the neck, so i decided to do a mod that I've always wanted to try. I replaced the big buttons with small ones from Radio shack, and placed them into positions that were comfortable for my fingers. The Orange button got relocated to the top of the neck to be hit by my thumb. Everything works great except that the buttons aren't sensative enough, and hurt my fingertips (i just can't win). My next plan is to replace the 4 small buttons with bigger, more ergonomic ones. Honestly, the ability to relax my fingers ALMOST makes the finger tip pain worth it, it's pretty nice.

Nice. Very nice. I can only play in short sessions because my wrist starts bugging me.

Have you considered those rubber-dome tact switches? They'd have the response of the original buttons but they're about the size of what you have now.

Neato, but I'd have a hard time getting used to reaching LEFT to hit the orange which is on the far right of the note highway. But if it works for you, that's all that matters.

Good idea...i'd probably put the orange button under the blue so i could just move my pinkey down. i have played guitar for about 4 years now and i still cant play guitar hero at all... and reaching from the 4th fret to the 5th fret isnt bad when its on a strings>.< not buttons that you finger gets caught on when u try to switch LOLz

Couldn't you just use your thumb?

Actually reaching my thumb over would not be the issue. Associating the orange notes (which are on the far RIGHT) with a fret button that's on the far LEFT, would take getting used to. Especially when you're already used to shifting your hand down to the 'other' four buttons (red yellow blue orange) which you really have to do when playing on hard or expert.
