i am looking for a battery that is 12v or up, and upwards of 10ah. also, li-poly or li-ion. price doesnt really matter, as long as its under about $500

You could probably find a better deal on them somewhere, but that's the highest mAh rating I've been able to find in the past 10 minutes.
You would want to make two sets of 4 batteries each in series and then wire those two together in parallel to form a 12V, 10Ah battery pack.

Your best bet is probably to hack up laptop batteries. DX has a cheap and good Eee battery I think.

i would need several laptop batteries to get to my needed mah. most laptop batteries are under 4000mah, and i want at least 10000 mah, preferably 15000. that way i could get reasonable runtime. the xbox and a screen (the screen is an lcd computer monitor) draws like 80 watts (12v). (with a laptop hdd and no disc drive)

This is barely within your budget, 20Ah. Kinda big physically (small for the capacity, but big nonetheless).

I reaaaaaly don't reccommend doing that. Unless you know what your doing, and are EXTREMELY careful.
