If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

I've not tried it, but probably. Most of those Ipod video docks just use the analog A/V from the dock connector or the headphone jack. You'll have to reference the Ipod pinouts to wire it up to the console you're planning to use, and may have to have some parts from the base, but you should be able to use it with some hacking.

Edit: Actually, it looks like it comes with cables to plug into a video source, so you should be good to go fairly quickly. The 8 inch version advertises S-Video in.

Nobody has used this screen before, so if you want to use it, you will have to figure out diagrams yourself.

These look pretty nice. Not for hacking, even, just for its intended use it is cool. Looks like you could plop a smaller system in there for an easy laptop.

As soon as I get $30, I'm totally buying one. Those look great! 8.4 inch screen, RGB input, S-Video input ~4000mAh battery (guessing), higher resolution than the PSone screen, all for $30! Dang!

Anybody know what Amazon charges for shipping?

That is a crap res for an 8" screen, standard for 7" portable DVD players. :( RGB? Where?

I still want one, I just like to argue.

According to ebay:
"480 X 234 Resolution (RGB)"
But there's no RGB output on an iPod connector. :?

Ah, I see. it is referring to the fact that that is the resolution after you take the 3x RGB pixel structure into account (this is why you see things like 1200x300 4:3 displays. ;) )
