"Violent videogames make children bad!"

.....Says the woman on TV.

Ok, I know what your thinking. I think this is stupid absolute bulls***. Just because I get handed over a sniper rifle and shooting Warhawks and people down with it doesn't mean that I will do that in real life where people get hurt. I KNOW IT IS A GAME, NO REAL PEOPLE ARE HURT! Does that mean when I play Mario I go and stomp people in the head, or when I play Spyro the Dragon I'd jump out of the window? NO! I'm one perfect sane person along with the vast majority of the videogame players here and around the WORLD.

Sure, yes, someone named Harris and his retarded buddy played violent videogames and killed in real life BUT SO WHAT! YOU ARE COMPARING US TO PEOPLE WHO ARE INSANE AS S***! Doom has sold thousands or even millions of copies and those handful of people who hurt others are not even a blip in the radar

Lol gotta love the video game violence hate.

I remember about ten or so there was a newspaper with an article in it by a group of idiots saying not to buy pokemon stuff because it was the work of satan and that it promoted violence. The same people in that article also stated that harry potter promoted whitchcraft lol.

I apologize for that, but I wasn't the one who brought it up, and I certainly wasn't the only person participating in that conversation... I also tried to be as respectful as possible about it. I merely meant that most Christians are pro-life, so they probably wouldn't have voted for him for that reason.

Also, the Jack Thompson-type attorneys or anyone else who believes video games are the root of all evil in the world today are amusing in their misguided attempts to get them banned. Apparently they've never heard of the ESRB or that big letter on the front of a game that represents its age-appropriateness. This whole problem comes down to either bad parenting (in the case of eight year-olds who steal cars after playing "GTA 4") or kids who were nuts to begin with (in the case of school shootings and the like), not the videogames themselves. However, it's easier to blame the constant factor in those problems than it is to look at who's really at fault, and as a result, these problems are all caused by "the damned vidya games."

I agree with you Twilight Wolf, all the way. We are sane minded people and will not get affected by this. Games are just another form of movies and music and pictures and videos. All these "Violent Videogame Controversy" is a whole load of horses*** because a few of the "abnormal" people does not represent 100% of the gaming community.

Precisely. Look at me, for example, I play violent video games all the time. Does that mean I want to put on a disguise and then stab someone in the back, like the Spy in "Team Fortress 2?" Or that I want to pick up a crowbar and attack people with it like in "Half-Life 2?" These guys probably also think that I want to pick up syringes and inject myself with whatever's in them in an attempt to gain cool powers because I saw it in "Bioshock."

Bottom line: Gamers are being misrepesented by an insane minority.

guys... I just killed someone. I strapped a chainsaw to my arm and killed the first person that came across me; stabbed him through the head with a caution sign. I was really anticipating Madworld but couldn't wait any longer.

Your arm must be kinda sore. Chainsaws are heavy. My sympathies.

And my arm cannon keeps misfiring. Especially on the charge beam. Any suggestions?

Video games don't make me crazy. Solder smoke does.

But back on topic, what do you think is more interesting and would sell more copies of a publication in a world where there is little knowledge about video games - the positive stories about kids who have involved parents and are allowed to play violent video games in moderation or not at all and end up making rational decisions and good choices in their lives, the scientific studies about the benefits to memory and reflexes video games can have on a child, or the negative story about the stereotypical Asian boy or the drug-addicted social outcast who is mentally deranged from playing video games and he hurts people without any trace of a conscience or proper upbringing because of it?

Unfortunately the latter has become the stereotype. People are addicted to trauma, drama, and death.

Irks are to be had around me constantly.
This word is incredibly lame without being incorrectly pronounced either way really.

Oh, and the packaging says Controllers, making them Controllers instead of Paddles and Remotes. Only the Wii should be referred to as a Remote.. and if you wanna get anal, the Atari 2600 Paddle

I actually don't speak or type the word pwn at all, haven't since 2005, except to explain that I hate its existence. If I see it spelled though I'll just pronounce it as own.

you hopeless idiot. everybody knows it's pronounced powned  the proper way to type it is p'wn'd=powned :x retard
Actually, you fail asdfjkl.
Its pronounced "own". The "p" is meant to act as an "o". (Due to the fact that, if you type fast and sloppy, you can easily type "pwn" instead of "own".)

Jeremy from PurePwnage himself, told me this.
