My retro duo snesp EDIT: INVERTED COLORS!?!

Pustom runs on 6v-12v, last I checked. Possibly less if you use a low dropout regulator, not sure on that.

so it can run on 6v? thanks. All the sites I have browsed said it had 12v input, but nothing about anything lower.

Yeah, they pretty durable, voltage wise, as they are made to be used on 12v systems in cars.

Have you used one before? I ask because on dealextreme, it says that it only accepts 12 volts.

My 2.5" can run off 6v. I did not get it off DX, got it off ebay, but it should work.

No way does it NEED 12v, it is even LED backlit.

Ok. What's the quality on it? I haven't heard that much about this screen or its quality.

TO be perfectly honest, I would call it "passable". Looks fine for most stuff on older consoles, but the PSone lcd has spoiled me. I like my hipgear screenpad a lot more, try and fine one on ebay (They are usually under $30 shipped)

Well, not much of an update, but I wired the 7805 the my portable and played for about half an hour on my tv with a 1500 mah ni-cd battery. the battery didn't die, I just had to go to work so I had to stop playing. Now for another question. How much mah does the retro duo use?

Well, now I am definitely not using the casio. I went to try to get a better picture on it, and when I turned it on, nothing. I tried several times, and nothing works. I even reversed what I did to the screen, and it still wouldn't work. I must have fried it when setting it on my table cloth for a while.

This is now getting back into progress! Palmertech pointed out a hipgear screen on ebay, and I won it last night. It should arrive in the next week and a half since it was in california.

TROUBLE UPDATE!!!!

I tested my games today. I played mario world with no problems. the same for DK country, shaq fu, killer instinct, mario kart, and the super gameboy. Then I got to zelda. The first thing I noticed was my file was deleted. when I tried to start a new file and type in my name, evry letter i selected turned to W. Then, when I pressed END so I could play the game, it went back to a file-less menu. I turned off the system, jiggled the cart, blew in it, and took it out several times and put it back in, thinking the game just hadn't been secure enough. The same thing happened again. The game is not the problem. It works fine on my snes.

Then I decided to see if nba live 96 would work. My file was deleted. When I tried to play, it kept telling me to draft players. After I drafted, and pressed start, it said "incomplete draft", and took me back to the same screen. I never got to play, just like zelda. My other games worked, just not these two, but the way I see it, if two out of my 8 tested games work, then over all, a lot of games wont work properly. so this must be fixed.

There are no wires touching on my relocated cart slot, as there is a thick blob of hot glue all over the connections. And my wires are 2 inches long. I have no Idea wat to do. I can't at all easily remove the cart slot to the original position because The hot lue I mentioned is REALLY THICK. Removing it would be a big pain in my ass.

If I can put the connector in its old place and the same thing happens, I honestly don't know what to do. I might just give up and put my $200 spent on this to waste. Or I may buy an fc twin. those are cheaper than retro duo and smaller. If I mess up on fc twin, It wouldn't cost AS much as a new retro duo.

Redo your wiring is all i can say. Thats pretty weird. maybe you hit something with your soldering iron that attached 2 things

I guarantee it's a loose data line. Your hot glue is probably the only thing holding one (or some) or the wires on.

I decided I will have to put the cartridge slot in its original place anyway. The wires I have are too thick to bend, and they take up a lot of needed space in the AG-85. LOB had to use metal leads instead of wires to relocate his cart slot. I think it won't be too bad haveing the cartridge sicking out at a 90 degree angle.
