Kill Firefox?

Guys, Windows 95 is the best there has been, and i have tryed just about all of them.

Ok if your still trying to get Opera set on the start bar (whatever) just install Opera, delete the firefox button on the bar and right click and select Opera. Thats what I did to replace Konqure a my default browser.

As for problems I've had with Firefox. Only one I can think of is occationally it disappears from the bar, but that probibly windows and all I have to do is alit + tab and I get it back.

Yeah when it diappears is as annoying as hell and I figured it out myself. I spent all day getting fedora to felel more like redhat

You know it seems rather odd that you say your more of a power user but you use th most user friendly distro out there. I dont mean any offence but if your going to avoid a lot of annoying BS you can try a different distro that isnt molested (as well a lot of the software) just to be P.C. and not "possibly" get RedHat in trouble.

i actaully run OpenBSD on my "main" computer thats UNiX but whatever. I used redhat for day to day and my friend told me stuff was more compatible with fedora.

I'm running Windows 2000 with Firefox, and I have no real problems with it. I use the AdBlock feature to eliminate banner ads, and extentions which give me weather reports and RSS feeds in a toolbar. But, who am I to judge? If you wish to use more-security-holes-than-swiss-cheese Internet explorer, you're more than welcome to.

Linux: Good
Windows 3.1: Good enough, hard to use
Windows 95: Crashes too much
Windows 98: Too dumb
Windows 2000: Good
Windows ME: Crashes too much
Windows XP Home: Good
Windows XP Professional: Same as Home
Windows NT: Shaving Cream

I use XP home on the cheapest of 2-year-old Dell junk. It's crap, I reinstalled XP several months ago, and luckily the BSoD has been in absense since.

You should see the atrocities I have to use at school.

1. A Pentium Pro 133 running Win2k Service Pack 4

2. Gateway 2000 Pentium 1 MMX 100 running 98SE, highly fragmented, runs like molasses.

3. Dell, P3 500. Good machine, but it's "running" XP service pack 2.

4. Old no-name PC, Pentium 2 300. I have re-built this thing at least twice a year.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

I thought the crappy mac server at my school was bad.The computers suck, the server has a tendency of going down a lot.

But yet you're using Opera... The closest you can get to FireFox without using FireFox, but still having to pay for it.

Switch to links with framebuffer image rending if you want no GUI. It's nearly impossible to get less mainstream than that.

Curious, what 'lies' are being spread with/by FireFox as mentioned in your sig's image?

You can't go better than your own handmade shell. I wrote one in Basic when I was 12 that did a file list to the screen, read the screen, put the currently selected file in reverse (black on white), and then you could move around which file to be selected. Hit enter and the program would figure out what to do with based on extension (.com and .exe got shelled out, .bas got loaded into memory and run)
