I had someone ask me about this the other day and I wasn't sure. Is it possible to add a headphone jack to a console (not a custom made portable). Just speaking in general.
I've seen some information about adding one to the SNES model 1 that has the separate APU sound module, but haven't found much information so far.
I don't know much about audio circuits, so I don't know if it's even possible/worth spending a lot of time trying to figure this out.
Anyone here know if this is feasible?

Plenty possible. Just wire it to the av out.

Just make sure you use something to control the volume. (Add a stereo sound pot or use headphones with an inline volume control.) Line level audio pumping through headphones is loud.

EDIT: I've got my system up and running with the headphone jack with no problems. It was very easy once you guys told me how
I'm doing some research and I can find "audio" pots...would these be similar/the same as a "stereo sound" pot you recommended?
(At Mouser there are a ton of "audio" pots for example: http://www.mouser.com/Search/Refine.asp ... er&FS=True)
I'm wanting to get a fairly small one, so it looks 16mm is the "miniature" size?
And I should get one that has the taper as "audio" instead of "linear"?

And my final question, any recommendations on the resistance value? I don't have much experience with pots so I just have no idea.
