Curiousity about making a N64 laptop boxed in with an xbox

I Originally started a project of making an n64 laptop with a Gamecube screen. Just today I get this other idea. I was thinking of making a laptop that was an n64 and an xbox packaged together. Thing I was thinking about is would it was possible to wire the screen to both systems; while being able to switch from the screen to the tv, if someone wanted to.

Questions:
-Is this possible to do?
-If possible, how would I be able to do this?

very possible, very huge. It's really not practical because of big size and dd vs cartridge.

I dont care about the size. I would be a bit wide and a bit higher, but I think would be really thing to do; considering I found an x86 (PC) emulator for the original xbox.

Any way, any idea how I would wire the size to both systems and make it able to switch from screen to Tv? and is there a better screen that you would be better for this type of project?

Edit: one more question. Do you think since the xbox 360 is out, that an original xbox would be unable to use xbox live?

The original one can still use xbox live.

If you don't care about size, it is very doable. If you want it to play on a screen you have to leave the av out from the system on the mobo, no desoldering. I saw a $200 one on dealextreme that would be good for this and make it look like more of a laptop than a huge box with a little screen.

Any ideas a nice sized screen to use? I looked at the joytech 8 inch screen. Only problem with that Is how to power the screen without a battery. Unlike the gamecube one I was originally using for n64 laptop project, which had a rechargable battery pack for the screen.

how to power a screen without a battery? Your going to run this from wall power? your going to have to use a step down regulator, look for one a http://www.ti.com

considering I found an x86 (PC) emulator for the original xbox.

I hope you do not plan on actually running PC stuff; It takes about 20 minutes for windows 95 to boot, and another 20 for notepad to load. All it is good for is emulating old DOS games.

would hocus pocus the old Gravis game run on it? If it would I would probably buy an xbox.

Not even if you wanted to.

X86 emulators are not fast in any way, you will be lucky to get up to the Quake 1 generation on an xbox.

And making an xbox laptop is expensive; From your other posts, I honestly think you just need a laptop/netbook that can play Goldeneye source.

Check this out. Its actually perfect for this situation. Its a Dvd car screen that has two 2 Video / 2 audio input. It says it can be used fo ps2, so it should work for both systems. And I dont need it to go to the tv then. Wouldnt be much soldering work to do. Just really make a case and arrange the hardware inside it in such a way.

Edit: The only real soldering that would be needed would be the av audio and video cables being soldered to the mobo of the screen.
