slim has more ram But it cannot be used for games, there are no games that utilize it. The only things that require it are Skype and the Dreamcast emulator.

Actually, while no game explicitly uses the extra RAM, other functions do. Games in general load much faster and the internet browser works better because it can open larger pages and images (otherwise you get an error message about the page's size).

Here's how you need to look at this:
If you need to get rid of one, consider getting rid of the newer one. While it is slightly better, you will get a substantial amount more for selling that one. Just my thoughts.

Actually, if you get The Sims 2, you will see what i mean... by wacking zombies, the game likes to lag on no cfw on a phat and it works fine on a no cfw slim doing the same thing with no lag.

They are both faster playing it with CFW installed and the speed up highest, but the phat still lags, but not as much. the slim doesnt lag.

[ tested on official firmware 3.71 on both and 5.00 on both, then 5.00 M33-4 on the phat and 5.00 M33-6 on the slim. ]


and giving a link on the phat battery covers for the slim, heres some that datel make: http://uk.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP- ... 00531.aspx i have never used before, so if they are crap quality, please just say =D

Eh, I don't think the lagging is PSP model related, but I cannot test, so oh well.
The hard drive+battery is so old, it is probably the stupidest thing to buy right now. EVER. Just buy a 16gb memory stick, why would you want a lame battery+4gb?

Eh, I don't think the lagging is PSP model related, but I cannot test, so oh well.
The hard drive+battery is so old, it is probably the stupidest thing to buy right now. EVER. Just buy a 16gb memory stick, why would you want a lame battery+4gb?

why in god's name would I sell the BETTER one? I'm not hard up for cash (by any means), its just a matter of me not seeing any point it keeping it, especially when its technically broken (UMD doesn't work, bought it that way). I like everything about the slim better, the only reason I would keep the 1001 is if there was some UNBELIEVABLE additional feature that I didn't know about that would be a reason to keep it around.

The biggest benefit of the slim is that it can plug into your tv (in my opinion)
