It doesn't look like I'll be bringing any portables. Or any of my hardware projects. I will be bringing a new game I'm working on. Hopefully if we can set up a TV some people can be playing it. It all depends how much I can get programmed before zero hour. I might even be working on it at the show.

Email from Dan:
Ben,
Check this little graphic out to see how we're thinking your area would be right now. The thought is that you would have the three 8' by 2.5' tables there with the two round tables behind for people to work on things at. The speaking area would be at that round table, and in that general area. You'd be dividing that speaking area with the VGEvo guys, who are working on what they think their schedule will be now, and since I know you were just starting I figured you could probably work around it?
One thing though -- based on the size, this is an area for like 20 people to stand at, not 200 like the other area can attract. If you want to speak on something, I'll probably ask (beg?) you to speak in the main hall to try to keep congestion down.
Tell me what you think of that layout. We can't do too much more with it (we're so booked with space this year, it's crazy!), but we can look at little things. Oh, and the reason we did it like that is so the round tables could be used as an area to build. Also, the thinking is that when you guys were speaking the projector / screen would be moved to the back of your area, and when the VGEvo guys are speaking they would use that round table near the entry, which at times could potentially choke off your entryway -- the only main negative with this design (but about the only one that we couldn't find any other solutions for). I still think it should work out just fine, however.
Thoughts?

NOTE: The 8x2' table labeled "92" isn't there now, so we have 4 total.

I think that you'd be better off reposting the image, rather than linking it from your gmail that none of us can see

WOO! I might just bring mine too, along with my custom controller! I also have a large-ish pile of Neo Geo games that need playing too, if you're interested in me bringing them. I have SamSho1 and 2, Last Blade, Metal Slug 1 and 2, KOF 94, Neo Turf Masters, and a kinda sorta working Puzzle Bobble. If you had something cool to trade for MVS I might be up for that too!Sparkfist wrote:If I get my act together I plan to bring a Neo Geo Supergun as my project. I'm also bringing a 26" TV (4:3 ratio). As long as I know it wont be damaged or stolen... I know fat chance, but as long as I know I'll leave it there for others to use.
Emulation isn't accurate. There is no substitute for real hardware!
Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
What neo geo games do you have? Maybe interested in doing some trading? Also, Sparkfist- does your supergun take the so-called AES standard controllers with DB-15 ports, or will it do so? If so, I'll just bring my joystick and cartridges.Triton wrote:DO IT! if you can get it done in time i can bring 10 MVS games including most of the king of fighters gamesIf I get my act together I plan to bring a Neo Geo Supergun as my project

@Triton, Cool! I'm glad someone will bring some games. I was worried about that as I'm spending soo much on getting it up and working I didn't want to think too much about buying a game.
No I'm working on just getting the overlay, the buttons and joystick right now. I don't plan to make it any more complicated then it's going to be. I have less then 30 days!

Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
Question: how many people are going to be there total, and both days?
I will probably go over on Friday evening and get started, and be there till the end on Sunday.
I know we have a hotel room list, but maybe we should get a "booth manning list" going too.

Re: The Benheck.com Experience at Midwest Gaming Classic 2009
Don't know if I'd like to be manning the booths the whole time (gotta go out and get some crap!), but I, like the majority of others, will be there on Saturday and Sunday.
