Where to get/cuut sheet aluminum
I need a place that will machine cut 1/8" or so sheet aluminum to spec. I need full holes and half-drilled designs/sunk holes. What should I be looking for?
Hey, sup?

Call up some local places.

Try sign shops and machinists, they'll probably have a CNC type machine, if thats what you're going for. If I'm understanding what you're wanting, even a machinist without a CNC could do it (probably best if you can't create the CNC files and only need 1 or 2).

Yes, but if he doesn't want to do it himself, that would be an acceptable solution.XCVG wrote:My method is cheaper

Re: Where to get/cuut sheet aluminum
Luckily for me, I've been training in the ways of creating engineering drafts.
Truthfully, I never thought it'd come in handy. To be honest, the courses I regarded as the least-valuable turned out to be the most relevant. Just goes to show. Anyways I could probably get some CNC program and do what I want on there to bring in to some shop.
Anyways, if I was look for a local place, what would I search for? The phone book has little under anything beginning with "metal".
And I am looking for a professional-quality cut, so a jigsaw is out of the question.
