WTB: Cheap Dremel

As the title says I'm looking for a cheap dremel. It would be nice if had some attachments. PM with details.

I suggest getting a Dremel brand not generic. I have tried a generic one - Clarke - isn't bad but doesn't allow using a quick-change chuck which is a pain; and a different branded one started to smoke when being used to cut something hard.

If you can afford a proper Dremel, I suggest getting one.

Craftsman and a few other brands are also ok. I have the Dremel 400XPR, and I love it. It comes with everything except for the easylock, too.

I think it depends on the model. Mine, I think, goes up to 30,000 RPM.

My preferred Dremel is an old 2-speed. 7500 and 15000. I find that the 7500 is sufficient for just about everything. I would recommend spending the extra $10 to buy yourself an adjustable chuck. It's really worth the money. You can only use them on the corded Dremels, though. They're too heavy and slow down the cordless ones quite a bit.

I bought a generic dremel for 9 bucks. The difference? Torque. I tried to cut some metal and the disc literally stopped. It was relatively soft copper, btw.

I bought a generic dremel kit, with like 150 pieces, including a flex shaft. Only cost me 15 bucks, and it works fine to my needs....

That is true, RPM is fine and dandy but is of little use if the torque is poor. I got a cheap cordless one, 15000RPM; but has very poor torque, so useless; I bought a Clarke dremel-type drill, torque is ok (up to 30000RPM) but doesn't take a chuck, so grips the drill bits not too well; and a proper Dremel, 15000RPM and 30000RPM (2 speed), torque is quite good, need higher setting for cutting through thin steel; 15000RPM is fine for most things.
