My dad said he'd go with me. He isn't worried, he said if anyone tried to get me he'll kick them in the nuts.

The only problem is tickets. I have to pay for my and my supervisor's (my dad's) ticket. That's about $800 total. :? What's the best airline in the US? Cheapest?

And how do you get portables past airport security? Walk in playing it? Or convince the guards to let you turn it on to show them. :P
Put them in your check in bags. Don't bring them on the carry on.

Check bags are what go through the scanner, right?

Won't they be suspicious?

And how often do bags get lost?

The bags you give to the nice lady when you get your boarding passes. If its suspicious they just X-ray the crap out of it. If you try to take it with you as a carry-on they can take it from you. (some board member lost there portable this way). I have never lost a bag.

Sounds like we will have (2) 8x2' tables and a share speaking area.

It's only a month away now, so let's think of some cool ideas and a schedule. I will put my thinking cap on too!

If I get my act together I plan to bring a Neo Geo Supergun as my project. I'm also bringing a 26" TV (4:3 ratio). As long as I know it wont be damaged or stolen... I know fat chance, but as long as I know I'll leave it there for others to use.

I'd say for those that are planning to make the portable they should get the time around lunch (11-2).

Anyone else want to add?

I should have my pnes finished by then...it'd pale in comparison to the many other portables that will be there, but I'll still have it to show ;)

We could have a "benheck band" at the event...I could bring my guitars and drums and things, and we could make some songs about portables

I'll probably be able to bring one of the THQ 360 laptops with me... not sure what else.

But I will be there the WHOLE TIME this time! Hm, maybe I should get a hotel room...

What I am planning on bringing right now.

Wooden DS
Secret Portable project
Atari 2600 Video mods
Atari 7800 Prototype Video mod

Maybe throw in the FIC if I can finish it before then.
