LED MOD HELP!

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

LED MOD HELP!

Post by mmoshkowich »

Im in the process of LED modding right now and I'm inside the lightbox and I have inserted my LEDS. Now what!

Do the LEDs go under that thin plasic strip.
What side does the Light glass face up on? (the one with dots or without)
What goes first the actual glass or those two thin sheets of plastic ?

HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/list]

What strip of plastic?
The dots go down. (I learned this the hard way)
Glass, then the plastic sheets.

Okay, Looking at the LCD facing down on the table

Solid white plastic
glass
plastic sheet 1
plastic sheet 2
LCD

Apparently the dots face towards the LCD, as mario said.

Dont worry, just wire it up, and then if its not right, then open it up ad try again, just mod the lightbox, then insert the LCD.

No, no, away from the LCD. Towards it causes all those little dots to show on the screen. :(

Hey, no prob! Thanks for the compliments. One thing I will reccomend you do, is don't rush, no need to pm someone to look at your topic: anyone who can help you will look in the section you post in anyways: I usually only check N64, Gc ps2 xbox, and pswii60, as they are the places I know the most in. :D

Just a note: If you're taking the screen apart and don't know which order which components go in, and what side is facing down and the likes, you're not doing it carefully enough or with enough attention to detail.

I bet you got hand prints all over everything. Wipe those off with cotton and rubbing alcohol before you reassemble everything.

Sorry to bump this, but I can't find this info anywhere...

In this scenario:

>Okay, Looking at the LCD facing down on the table
>
>Solid white plastic
>glass
>plastic sheet 1
>plastic sheet 2
>LCD

The plastic sheets are different. One of them is a little clearer than the other(kinda milky white). What order do they go in or does it matter?

Thanks!

Glossy side down, clearer one on top, I would think.
