Sorry for like my 4th question this week, but I can't find answers, and I know you guys just love helping me out
But anyway, after coming back from my spring break and returning to school I decided to brag a little bit about my PS1. A lot of people were interested and congratulated me. Though some wanted me to give them a manual on how to attach a battery or simply mod it for them. This brings me to my question:
Is it legal to mod consoles and sell them for profit?
My school can be strict with selling things, and I don't want to get in any trouble.
If you tried setting up a business and putting a patent on it then it would be illegal, but since your just reselling everything that you made it out of it's fine. It would be like selling your old ps1, screen, and battery all in one sale on ebay or something, totally legal.
Think of it this way:
Modding PC's and selling them isn't illegal...
It'll void your warranty, but nobody's going to sue you for that!

Warranties? That is only applicable for modern systems, unless you buy an old system from a shop, there is no warranty anyway on old products, like retro consoles and PSone screens.

Or realising, like on the PSone console, why they thing won't pry open after you take out all the screws, that there is one hidden one under the "void warranty if removed" sticker!

I've never really had anything break under warranty. I might eventually get to use the warranty on one of my craftsman screwdrivers, but that is probably still a while off. My grandfather had one break after 30+ years, and that was because it was misused (not by him) one time. I think it was used for prying something, I don't know. He got a new one for free, anyway.

I haven't had issues with needing to use warranties, but there again, I have no interest in the Xbox 360 with its "ring of lights" problem - I imagine a warranty is critical for them!
You mean RROD?
Ya, those are retarded.
BTW, most consoles come with the warranty, but you can buy extended warranties. I never get those, though.
