Nes Unfixable?

Following Mr. Heckendorn's book i have bent the pins and cleaned out the verry dirty cartrage slot.....but when i turn on my nes i get the screen blinking diffrent colors. Is there more i can to to try and fix or should i just get another one?

I'm not sure how the cart is hooked up in the book, but I do know that they have plenty of replacement connectors on ebay for about $10

show some good pics of how everything looks and we'll tell you if it looks allright. Show the connector from a few angles, how it is set on the board (you can set it just slightly off and have it not work) and just a general pic of the whole thing. Also, (obvious I know, but i have to ask) did you try using other carts? Sometimes the copper connections on the carts can wear down. Use a cart you know is in good working order, one you rarely had to "blow" on to get it working.
