Solar Powered RC car

Well, I'm planning on making a solar powered RC car. I was thinking of using those radioshack x-mods, seeing as I have experience with them already. Is it as simple as I think it's going to be, or am I fooling my self. I was thinking of either using it to just constantly charge rechargeables that are being used, or make it run direct. Ideas? Thoughts?

If you make it run directly on solar power, be prepared to be very disappointed. It'll probably crank out 3V 20mA if you're lucky. And only in the sun.

I was thinking of using/modding a few of these.



with these specs:

What kurt said. They still use NiMh batteries for a reason. It would go about as fast as a wind-up car.

6v, .1A. Most RC car batteries are 7.4v 2A at the least. Even if the panels could give the maximum output they're capable of, it'd probably go as fast a little model car down a dirt road.

Well the newer ones come with NiMH. Same principle though, high discharge rates.

Well, the Xmods I was thinking of using can just run off of regular AA's. 4 of em. So do you think it could match that? I was thinking maybe just use the panel to charge either:

A)The rechargable AAs in the car
or
B) A photocell of some sort.
