PTH08000 voltages

Post by Basement_Modder »

I dicided to go the switching regulator route for my GCp, as the dropout on the LM7805A was too high. So now I am getting some free TI regs (free sample abuse- ftw)

Now, thanks to harshboy, I know how to get 3.3v, but I still need 1.9v and 5v.

diagrams, links, and verbal advice greatly appreaciated.

No, FU. Microchip charges $10 for samples now. Do you know how much these things cost? A lot more than PICs.

These Ti cards are about $14. I stopped using the free samples as I would rather give money to Ti for a great product.

To figure out which resistor to use to set your regulator for a desired output, use this formula:

Image

For 1.9v you should get a resistor that is close to 7.09K ohms.
For 5v you should get a resistor that is close to 353 ohms.

And checking the datasheet might help too.

EDIT: Just read the "free sample abuse ftw" thing. That is really not good. You should buy them rather than hoarding samples as they are not cheap. Tsk, tsk.

Fourteen bucks?! I'd rather get it for free!

We're saying get ONE.

If you break it then consider BUYING the next one. Maybe you'll learn a lesson.

Its a sample, not a free for all. Ive already considered emailing them directly and telling them to filter their accounts better against kids with hotmail address. Come on guys. Little chips, ok, whatever. But these converters are hella expensive, and you really shouldn't need more than one/yr.
