If there was any ad, I'd prefer it not to be anything too intrusive. I have nothing against an occasional ad as long as it's appropriate (don't want to get kicked out of the school media center, ya know) and well placed. Of course, there are still some little requests (no spyware stuff, no annoying flashy pictures, etc.)

Yeah, obviously all-ages-appropriate of course. as far as banners go, have em at the bottom of the screen or something, out of site, whatever pays the bills I suppose.

Look, the #1 thing you can do to stop crap posts is to ignore them. All you do when you respond is bump them for others to look at. When peppers talks about his new problem, say to yourself "That's nice." and ignore it. The people silly enough to make new topics about whatever they want to whine about or share with the world aren't going to listen when you tell them it wasn't worth doing. But if you just ignore it, it goes away. When you draw attention to it, you just make people want to post garbage.

Ever since I installed broadband on my WinXP pc I've never had a pop-up! Windows XP is seriously underrated by a lot of people.

Exactly.... And get it to something related to portibilization. like that lik-sang website, everyone refers them there anyways, why not get paid for it?
I'm the man, if you don't think so, you're wrong.

I think there are lots of reposts because info is hard to find in all the trash. there should be a section for general questions (appling to more than one system) and a tutorial section to make it easier to find the few tutorials.

If searches of the forum and other resources dont answer your question then you ask it in the forum of which best fits the project it will fit in. If someone has a simalar problem they can go through the same steps, and hopefully they're find it.

At best the idea of moving old threads from this site and making them archives on Doomportables.org is just a consept but hopefully it will be a better used resource.
