Yeah I've ordered one too... I'm not sure if making up a company (Koopatronics) helped it seem more legit or if they just absolutely don't give a damn because they cost them next to nothing to give away.

Does any of you have conscience at all? It may be easy and TI doesn't give a crap about it, but it's still wrong. People these days just don't care and that's a real shame.

I don't see anything wrong with it. They have the free samples program in hopes that an EE will use it in their product they are making, and then turn around and order several thousand of them. Even if TI gives out hundreds of samples to folks who don't eventually order thousands of units, they still come out ahead from those that do. Look, TI isn't going out of business any time soon by the looks of it and if they had a problem with the program, they wouldn't offer it.

I said it allready and I'll say it again – they know people do use their service wrong and they don't care. It still doesn't change the fact you molest them. Their service is meant for companies that use their components for prototypes and such things that are meant to become a set of products using TI components. Stop defending yourself when you're doing the wrong thing. At least you could admit it.

Free samples are free samples.
It isn't stealing, because it is given no value by the company.
I have no qualms what so ever.

That's just it, though - we disagree about it being wrong.Liuhuparta wrote:Stop defending yourself when you're doing the wrong thing. At least you could admit it.

Sure, they provide free samples, but they aren't meant for individuals working with game console mods ot what so ever. You must be really self-centered if you all honestly say there's nothing wrong with your methods.

They are meant for companies who might order lots of them.
Pretend I'm SS for a minute.
"Oh, I need a continuous supply of these regulators for my continuous supply of N64Ps!"
"ShockSlayer, ShockSlayer! What are you going to do?"
"Well it just so happens that I called myself ShockSlayerElectronicsCo., now I can get one for free!"
"Jubilations!"
We really are all just companies working for little to no profit. I could get one for free, and maybe pay for some later. That's what they want.

I didn't even once say that TI has a problem with this. You're missing my point here. If don't care, what I say and argument totally wrong things here, I'm not interested in talking about this any more.

Re: need help getting a PTH08080 regulator.....
pth08080 is better because of its lower failure percentage.
the only differece between wah and waz is one has lead.
