I read on a homepage that the famicom has a microphone what is it good for and can It be build into an nes?
what differences are between nes and famicom can the nes do everything the famicom can??

yeh there was a mic bulit into some fimicom comtrollers the onley use i know of is with the JAP The Legend of Zelda, you could make a noise to kill a sertain monster I dont think it was relly used for meny games at all but it should be possiple to convert it to NES for use with famicom games that support it in the nes

ithougt it was in the console but if its in the controller it could be a solution to my question why the famicom controllers have two more pins

It would be good to use with a family converter and the mod that allows you to use an FDS with the NES

cause i rewired a chip from the nes controller i saw that there are to non used contacts in the controller cause i don't now how to post pictures I hope u have one to check it the connections are on the upper right

just look for the famicom to nes pinouts btw im pretty shure the controller that had the mic was the famicom model that the controlls where hardwired into the famicom but im not shure

It's not in the console, it is optional/in the controller. You could have a Mic, or if you didn't want one, you could buy a controller without a Mic. Discussion over.

you do realise the origal model famicom had ist controllers HARDWIRED into the console itsself with no controller ports and im pretty shure that is the onley one that had the mic

If they are hard wired I won't be abel to get one but there must be schematics somewhere

Peppers: You do realize you're wrong, right? There IS one controller port on the Famicom. How do you think Zapper games worked? And ROB the Robot is out here too.
So it is quite possible that it was an optional controller. End of discussion :P

The Mic was Built into the second controller which is hardwired to the system.

^yep and rob the robot is wireless he moves corisponing to a flashing green light on the screen and has a slot to put a regular controller in and expanson port dose not count as controller port where zapper pluged in pls check you facts before before you criticize me
