Well, it looks like I accidentally shorted my lithium ion battery in the process of trying to fire up my N64 portable. My charger now appears to not want to charge it. The battery does show having about 4.5V, but stays that way after about half an hour on the charger.
Is there a way to revive these things, or have I blown the protection circuit and must buy another? Thanks.

You shorted the battery itself? Man, you're lucky that thing didn't blow on you.
I wouldn't try using it again, best just to get a new battery.

Eh, it was an extremely small period of time. (Less than half a second.) Helps it wasn't fully charged to begin with.

Buy a new protection circuit. You probably blew a fuse on the board, but there's no point of a protection circuit if you just bypass part of the protection. It also might be stuck inside an IC.
Hey, sup?

Alright, I'll start hunting for one - thanks!
