What the HELL is this!!!

what is this i am missing it and my Reel To Reel wont work with it out. It has seven prongs

That looks like a voltage switch. It let's you select which mains voltage you'll be using. If you're in the US this is most likely 110 V. Most of Europe is 220 V or 230 V. If you've plugged it in with the wrong setting the fuse is probably blown. It can be found just to the left of the switch.

Thats what i was thinking it was. On my unit it is not there and i found a picture of it.

Its kinda like before the cassette player i dont use if at all i am trying to fix it for my dad. Hes got some reels before hes mom died he wants to listen to. i guess its a voltage selector plug for making the transport and amp-section. We bridged a wire in two of those prongs and got the front light to work but thats about it. Would anyone know how to make one of these?

You dont need to select the voltage if you arent moving between countries that often. You have the right idea but it sounds like you selected the wrong voltage. If you are on 110v service you probably cant guess wrong, since its probably the lowest possible setting.

You most likely selected the wrong voltage.. The light bulb probably works at a lower voltage than everything else

Well theres a bunch of different voltages that switch can be. but there wasn't a 120 so i found the pin out for it and used 117 so it powers up!
