Saturn portable progress, with pics

Hello everyone,
As some of you know I'm trying to make a saturn portable. Its nowhere near complete yet, but so far so good. I'm stuck at the moment waiting for parts and funds to continue. In the meantime, I decided to post some photos of the project because I have had some genuine interest in it from users on the forms. I guess because it has never been done before. Enjoy:

Why make a saturn portable? There are two games I have and love, Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Fighter 2. I could play those all day.

Are you using a Model One Saturn, by any chance? From what the motherboard looks like and the fact you mentioned a red LED, that's my guess.

Also, are you just going to use a standard controller, or are you going to try to implement analog controls, as well? Analog control is a must for some games, as I bet you've discovered, but it'll be awesome either way.

By the way, "Panzer Dragoon" and "Virtua Fighter 2" are awesome. My personal favorite Saturn game is "Tomb Raider," though.

Yes it is a Model One. The LED is actually on the Controller board, which you can't see in any of the pictures.

As for the Controller, I'm going to use the analog controller from Nights. Its a circle about the same size of the screen plate, so it looks and feels good right under it. I pulled it apart and will probabily use the front plate of the controller, save me a lot of work as well.
I wish I had Tomb Raider. If I ever get this thing working I'm going to pick that one up on ebay.

Ah, the 3D Control Pad. I love that controller; glad to know you're going to use it!

Also, you should definitely pick up "Tomb Raider" sometime. It's quite enjoyable and it's dirt cheap online.

I can't wait to see what this thing will look like when it's finished!
