GC independant rumble

Post by Diminuendo »

Ok this is sort of weird, but it's part of my plan for a certain mod;

As shown by the internal wavebird reciever mod you can have two controllers wired into a single gamecube port, with both being fully functinal. Now, I want to wire 1 gamecube controller and have a rumble device fully independant of the controller (as in I can hold the controller in one hand and the rumble in another), is this as simple of putting two wires on either end of a motor or does it require something more complicated? I'd like this to be as small as possible other than the size of the rumble motor itself.

Thanks in advance.

I can think of only one use for this, and if I am right, there are probably better, commercial solutions to what you...need. :lol:

But yes, just extend two wires.

There are two wires connected to the motor, a red and a black one. Extend those.

It depends on the controller. Can you show us a picture of the one you are using?

Its actually the N64 to gamecube mod;

I'd like to put motors from a crapped out PS3 controller in the wings.

Well, I am not sure if that adapter supports rumble.

If it did, it would use the N64 rumble pack, you would need to get one of those. You MIGHT be able to fit the motor inside the N64 controller, but it would be a tight fit.

Just checked back.

It does work. which is great, I still want to internalise it at some point, you know, that and do away with the batteries. anyone know a cable I could harmlessly use on the gamecube to power it?
