I can't believe I forgot to comment on this! It's beautiful, I must say. :D I'm glad it's finally finished. It's just so wonderful I could cry...

EDIT: Eww, the new crying smiley looks gross. :(

EDITEDIT: After seeing the video I think it's even more amazing. That beast looks HOT! :P

Also, Engadget sucks. Have you read the comments on your portable? It'd ridiculous. :? I bet they're just jealous they can't make one theirself. Appearantly none of them are "old skool" gamers.

meh, what do you expect? While portablizing is an accomplishment, you're doing what has been done plenty of times before. You like the praise, but [mostly] from people who don't care unless it's something they've never seen.

You can reason all you want, but they don't really care about your explanations. To somebody who is used to seeing a portable as something really small and sleek, then the IntoPlay doesn't appeal. And when it's been pushed over and over to purchase your kits or that you want praise so much, then what does it look like to the average person? Think about it.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Every time you make a portable, Domo kills a kitten.

I suppose it is true - People on this forum just crank out portables. They're nothing special anymore. We need to make something REALLY revolutionary!

 No offense, but ShockSlayer would probably be the greatest example of a person who cranks out portables.
Ya, get inspired and do something awesome, like the nintendo sixtyfree lite r
(ok sorry for using that as a benchmark, again...)
That was pretty revolutionary.

Hey, it takes a lot of talent to be able to crank out portables like that.

Talent? Perhaps not.
After one portable is made, the rest are completely easy.
I see where you are coming from, TwilightWolf, but honestly the only thing it requires is creativity so you may have them all look different.

Sure, it's like anything; the first made gets "wow" next ones get "great", subsequent ones get "meh", unless they do something far better than the normal. It isn't though like this forum makes system on a mini production line, the vast majority of members here have never made a portable after all. Sites therefore seem to prefer to post systems that fall into one spectrum or the other - either "wow" (which is far harder these days) or "ha, ha, fugly and looks like a cake" type - like the humourous part at the end of a news program. A couple of my previous projects got posted for the latter reason, as they did recently for another member here on his balsa wood PSoneP system. These sites have no idea how much dedication and time it takes to make a portable system, perhaps if they did their members would have more respect for what we do. What they see is "ho hum, here we go again, another portable", and especially for PSone systems, harp on about their hacked PSP's like they know anything about anything.

Once you make a system once, you can certainly crank out more, frankly, after the first time you make a particular system portable the innovation is gone and you want to do something harder or different as the challenge has gone; you need to me motivated to make a system better, so the challenge is in improvement. I want to make a sleek N64, I know however it won't take that long as I know exactly what to do though.

Bottom line is you make a portable for your own use and the system you want, that is what is important - this is a hobby after all and you need to like the result.

Well, at least you agree, bacteria.

Good point, i have yet to finish mine  I guess i shouldn't be so hypocritical.
P.S. Bacteria, you have really well worded long posts, at least it shows that one person has a constructive thing to say, (or at least good grammar, for that matter).

Bacteria, that is exactly the situation. You hit the nail on the head and I agree with what you said 100%. Well put.

Anyone care to go on a rant about people bragging about their hacked PSP's and how they seem to think it instantly trumps any mod of any kind ever? "Why don't you put ROMs on a PSP it's so much better" - ARGH! As if no one has ever heard of emulators...

Honestly, i don't even know why anyone would say that; emulators are TERRIBLE.
We're real modders, folks, and welcome to the benheck community where portables kick emulators' ass.
Hell ya! (I should probably start working on mine again.)
