Is it healthy for the n64 to be turned on by plugging it in?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Like soldering the on switch permanently on and just putting a switch on the battery.

I don't see why it wouldn't but I'm just checking with you guys.

Most portables do it that way with no ill effects, so I guess it's okay.
