TI-82 mods/ideas

Well I found a TI-82 that someone gave me a few years ago, and I was thinking about interesting things to do with it.

I already have it running on AA batteries rather than AAAs. I was thinking about overclocking it but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Other than that I couldn't really think of much.


Any ideas?

Put a Gameboy in it.

I really want to have it as like a pimped out (yet obsolete) graphing calculator though haha.

But if it craps out, putting a Gameboy in the case would definitely be pretty leet.

PimpCalc.

Backlight it
Put lights behind the buttons
Put either a single clear window in the back, or two small ones.
Make it shoot flames. (Totally doable really.)

Wow, PimpCalc is pretty impressive. I really liked his backlight.

The shooting flames part actually seems really practical, as I have a large cavity where the AAAs used to be.

And of course it would be totally awesome, especially during AP tests and the like.

Clear or windowed case and lots of LED lights.

PimpCalc is cool, but it's for the TI-83(+). The TI-82 has sinificantly less memory, significantly less CPU power, no flash memory, lower screen res and a less developed ASM scene. And probably less free space inside the case too.

Ya no doubt. The TI-82 sucks compared to the newer TI calcs (TI-83, 84, etc.).

I wasn't really gonna use it as an app platform or anything (I have a TI-84 for that ), so I think I'll just paint the case and maybe overclock it.

I'll probably skip on the backlight as it would be pretty ugly IMO. (a bright blue monochrome screen?? yuck! lol)

Ya I posted before I saw the video.
It doesn't light up anything.

But I finally decided on putting an mp3 player in the back where the batteries used to go.

I'll probably put pics up next week after I get a cheap mp3 player
