GH:world tour
Halo 3
Splinter cell: Double agent
Left 4 dead.
My gamertag is hazardkills, now add me on Saturday.

Re: anyone up for a game?
I'd be up for some World Tour, but it depends on when I get back to my 360 on Saturday, probably not until the evening sometime.

I don't own a 360, so nope sorry. I don't think I'll buy a 360 either because they are incredibly expensive.

Except it isn't $200. I would never buy the arcade package without buying a hard drive. With no hard drive the console is severely crippled. Therefore I'd probably buy the pro, which is $300. Add one good game, they are a ripoff at about $50 each (some are more like $70). Then add an extra contoller, a live subscription, and either play and charge kits or a crapload of batteries. Next thing you know it's about $500. I'd actually love to have a 360, but it's too expensive for me to afford. Plus I have no room on my desk to put it. (I'd use my computer monitor because my TV is only SD because I use it mostly for retro games)
Seriously, Microsoft needs to drop the prices. $300 for a console, I can live with that. At $50, games are insane. Also, if I spend $50 on a controller (which is a ripoff) I should at least get a rechargable battery. I also hate the way Live subscriptions work. Silver, the basic subscription, allows access to arcade and some other stuff, but not online gaming. You have to pay for that, which is completely backwards. Silver should be online gaming and nothing else- you should pay for extra features, not essential ones. Also, what are points cards for? Is this a subscription based (such as GameSpy) or purchase based (such as Steam) system?
Bottom line: High price tag and dubious online functionality prevent me from buying this great system.

XCVG, and Nintendo's and Sony's prices are any better? Don't lay the blame on one company.

Standard Xbox 360 games are $60. Same with PS3 games. Standard Wii games are $50. Pricey, yes, but pretty much unavoidable unless you do a lot of shopping online (like I do). It's just how the industry's prices are today.

Re: anyone up for a game?
Agreed. No matter who's console you buy, it's expensive. The Wiimote seems cheap until you realize you need a Nunchuck for 80% of games. The Dualshock 3 is cheap because it frankly sucks. I find it way too small (I have a friend with a PS3). Sony charges even more for the PS3 and it doesn't even play PS2 games anymoreBlack Six wrote:XCVG, and Nintendo's and Sony's prices are any better? Don't lay the blame on one company.
If you're cheap like me the PC gets MOST of the big titles. Chances are you already have one, but if you don't they are like $500. Throw in a $100-$150 graphics card and you're all set. Online is free for most games, and games are slightly cheaper. You DO have to install, but it speeds up load times considerably. Head-to-head really sucks though. You used to be able to buy one copy and play on LAN but now you have to buy two copies- it's really sad actually. One last note about the PC's value- you don't need a fancy HDTV. Most of the PCs sold today come with a fairly good monitor.
Third choice- there's always retro consoles. Perfect Dark is fun, but it makes me miss online play...

Re: anyone up for a game?
The Dualshock 3 is no cheaper than an Xbox 360 controller, you know. Also, why does it suck, aside from being too small? I think it's a great controller other than that. I love the motion-sensing capability, and the rumble function, while it does suck down battery power, is good and strong. The analog triggers were a nice addition, too.
Also, the PS3 has come down in price significantly. What do you mean Sony's charging more for it? If you mean compared to the XBox 360, the PS3 actually costs you less in the long run because it includes a built-in Wi-Fi antenna and online play is free, among other things.
I'm gonna stop there to avoid potentially sparking a flame war.

Yeah, we kind of hijacked your thread here, didn't we? Sorry about that.

Re: anyone up for a game?
It's fine... I do agree that most all game anything is overpriced, but without that money the game developers couldn't afford to stay afloat and it would be a repeat of the first gameing market crash. It's an expensive hobby, that's just the way it is.
P.S.Cross TF2 off my list and add Halo 3.

Expensive, yes, but worth it.
Also, you didn't get rid of "The Orange Box," did you? That makes me sad.

I don't have a 360, sorry.
I have a DualShock 3, and it fits my hands perfectly.
