Portable concept help???

Post by AWeaver1990 »

I want to make a portable, the same exact way the nes and snes portables are made if possible but run off a flash cart instead of changeable games. I was thinking about it the other day and carrying a bag of games i can complete in a couple hours on holiday or trips isn't practicle...any ideas or advice? What would be the best way to go about it?

I actually had an Idea Just Like that I'm Not sure about the SNES part but the NES Part I would buy a PowerPlay *http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.ph ... ucts_id=34* , Desolder The NES Cartige Slot, Open up the Power play Cart and Solder it directly to the NES Board. Thats Just a basic Idea but do you understand What I mean?

mmoshkowich, i do get what you mean but i was meaning a little more recent. for example a better hardwared portable with a gba flash cart built in. that way i could plug the usb into the side and load on any games i wanted. And kurt...rainy days and long journeys. Enough said.

Just about anything 2D GBA or older will run virtually fullspeed on the most recent emulators for GP2X.

Most of the reviews that say that are really old. The GP2X runs NES, Gameboy Color, Genesis, a bunch of others, and SNES full speed on all games except for starfox and a few other 3d snes games, and it runs most GBA games at full speed (Although some need 1-2 frameskip to work perfectly).

The GP2X is incredible, most everything runs well.

Alright then. building an SNESp and buying a GP32X is the decision. Thanks for the help and advice.

A PSP kicks the GP2X butt in the emulator field now.

Not for MAME. ;)

And besides, this guy does not sound super-tech savvy. The PSP is a lot harder to get running homebrew than a GP2X, which does it out of the box. And at least for SNES and NES, they both emulate it perfectly.
