Desert Island

If you were stranded on a desert island, and could only have 1 game. What would it be (console games preferably, No world of warcraft!)

Mine would be Final Fantasy 7.

Diablo II: LoD. Plenty of replayability while I wait for rescue.

And assuming it was an all-in-one system with infinite batteries and such, as a second item, the console, I would choose:

Console:

Nintendo DS lite.

Reasons:

1) You can use the lithium batteries to start a fire easily, for about a hundred times, or until the battery no longer sparks.

2) You can use one screen as a flashlight. They're so god damn bright.

3) You can use the other screen as a signal mirror, with a bit of shining and the removal of the top polarizer/anti-glare.

4) With the removal of the innards and the inside panels, you can have a small carrying case for supplies on the go. You know, essentials. Some make-shift first aid stuff, a bit of fish fished out of the sea (Wait.... DESERT island? Walk to safety ), and a butane soldering iron.

Actually, the VERY bottom layer behind the lightbox is incredibly reflective silver mylar, like a mirror. So you are very right, it would be an incredible signal mirror if you go to the last layer.

I cannot even begin to think of what hame it would be, but for console, it is clear: An N-Gage QD! Not only is it a small compact gaming system capable of emulating GBC and NES classics, you can use it to call for help when you beat all your games.
