Legality of using TOC 2.0 Protocal.
Well, I was thinking of writing a quick app to make a lightweight AIM client for my use. I was wondering if it's legal to use all their stuff, etc. I know there are things like miniaim, and pidgin which use it, but I was wondering if it's ok to use it.

I'd say that if you are using it purely for yourself, then there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. But if at some point it is used by many people, I'd highly suggest contacting AIM and double-checking that it is OK to do that if you give them credit for the protocol and do not modify it.
There's No Place Like 127.0.0.1.

It depends what country you are in.

Regardless of the legality, they might block you if they think you're a spambot or hacker. So don't log in with your regular account until your app is fairly bug free.
