I would hate FedEx or UPS going under, I don't like USPS for ebay...

Would almost want all American car companies to go bankrupt; maybe that'll teach us how to make a vehicle. However, this would end up screwing the local economy over even more. I would also want McDonalds to go out of business, but they would take Chipotle with them...

Target is one of my favorite stores, I couldn't imagine it gone. :(

What would I hate to see go under?

Post by rikitheshadow »

Sams Club - because i'd be out of a job
Wal Mart - well Sams Club and Wal Mart are the same corp.
Gamestop - they are my gaming source 90% of the time
Target - true target is cleaner than wal mart most of the time
Radio Shack - i haven't even gotten started with my new hobby yet
Fry's Electronics - are you kidding, its like Radio Shack but it is where I find most of my computer parts
Sony - heh like they will, but they make nice hand helds for 1st timers
Samsung - really good electronics, couldn't live without some of their stuff
HP - despite its many downsides, their not a bad company
IBM - my father would be finding a new job
Bandai - despite their hold over some of my favorite anime stuffs, i would be nowhere without em
Dr. Pepper and Coca Cola - 2 of my favorite drinks! I hates pepsi

I would like to make a note on places i miss as well, that went down the tube.

Funcoland - my old gaming source, carried more hand me down consoles and stuff, everything at Gamestop is new gen, and now they won't even carry anything below a PS2, not even a PS1. (Might of been only in Texas)

GameStop is previous-gen and onward here in Reno, as well. I think it's an industry-wide thing.

same in NoVA. They used to go all the way back but then stopped. it was a sad day for me when I noticed they stopped carrying old-school stuff. Then I discovered starland which was a gamer's haven... and then it closed :(
now I have to rely on garage/yard sales.

Forgot about them! I would consider suicide if they went belly up. :(

I'd say:
My local Do it Best Hardware store- they've been there for about 30 years I believe.
Tippmann- They're a paintball company if anyone wasn't aware, but they're located in my state and I own a gun that was made here.
I'm sure I'll think of more, but I just got up and I'm not a morning person.

Also if the car companies went out I wouldn't care. Their cars are lacking the same quality of the foreign cars. My parents have owned just about every make and model of car (we counted 29 total vehicles in the past 17 years and who knows how many before); but the American cars always broke down. But recently we acquired a Nissan Pathfinder and it has over 160,000 miles and it's runs like new. So, unless the American manufacturers can come up with something better, they're screwed.

Home Depot. The service I get there is so much better than at Lowes.

Edit: not racist against Japanese, just the cars :P Subaru's cool though because they know how to properly mount an engine.
I don't know last time I saw any thing besides a mustang it looked pretty much the same as any thing else out there. oh not the GT500 that's epic. I think if they could dare to do any thing with America they could get right back on top. Why is every thing out sourced all to hell? why are Japanese and Korean manufactures moving in and setting up on American soil? simple. They and the french are leading the mass design and R&D together. GM last year pulled out of an alliance with Nissan and Renault then they lost a crap load of money. I see more people in mazdas which is mostly ford money. So ask your self is it tastes? or is it dieing determination that will save those companies. I think they should just move on to better things and break some of there old money packs so they can benefit and inspire the auto market. Does any one know what the name of this generations Holden is in America? keep in mind there are a lot of American money in those Asian markets. Wall mart can up and Die any moment, really needs too. I just had to go to a strip mall town where every road leads to wall mart. I really wish the sea would just wash over that valley and every thing in it. a nasty hole of a place. Its the only town on the island that I get stoned walking down the street and flipped off by people Ive never met. (with big copulate rocks, not my kind of public stoning) on second thought yeah they can keep there wall mart. but really the impact around the world child slavery and every thing in mind we really don't need wall marts, if it weren't for those things there would be better deals. I was in that crap town when all the good hobby stores closed down. Thank god theirs no hell mall in Victoria. Why are the fattest women possible at each and every one? what else good closed down... oh the pet stores, most of the clothing stores closed up and now you'll have to spend more that 20 bucks to get the cheapest hats. oh then the mayor of this town LANGFORD, made a deal with a naboring community and took out a huge chunk of reserved land that had all kinds of really cool forest and park land that we all enjoyed to make way for the Bear mountain interchange. I think when I helped host the protester party there where several hundred that stayed there place and didn't come down. We still had about thirty or so in our restaurant and a huge session at the end of the night. Still the next week the military and every single police member in town came down and did there thing to make Langfords mid day traffic jams slightly less congested. Now the natives are pissed theirs loads of environmental problems, and clear as day the police have little to no shame. Each and every one of these companies can go down. I'm not being a hippy or any thing thing. I'm to bitter to do that crap. But it will happen. some day we will catch every natural fish, we will cut down the last tree, water will run from the soil and I'm sure before that we will have changed our ways on how much crap. Pointless crap we need to make and sell. money is the biggest excuse we have to keep clinging on to that crap. its the biggest creative and social stifle we will ever face. its the reason for genocide war and religious domination.

Just an observation. oh and Communists still admitted they where wrong. we have loads of problems and we are not changing a thing. Full speed a head! lol really though its up to people who realize the hole there in to change it. look at all the best inventors, and artists. Lucas was depressed and trapped in his small town before he went after his education, doing any thing he could to express him self before he was going to be shipped off to Vietnam. Jobs and Waz dropped acid and had crappy hippy lives doing nothing most of the time till they realized oh my god computers don't speak English to there users, we have to change that. most alternative fuel guys are farmers who are just burning weeds and waste crop that are piling up to keep there farms running. with out that kind of desperation they wouldn't have done a thing. They wouldn't have even known really how bad things where till they tried some thing else, any thing else than what wasn't working.

like wouldn't it be a better place if we started diving up all our wealth and helping out crap countries where people are killing each other for nonsense. you could start with America, any thing in the middle east too getting them all off the crusades. then all the money we spend on booze guns and the sex trade we could spend it on education re-industry and better ways to party. like a cooler hotter sex trade. one where we don't exploit drug addicts and booze jockeys. I mean the Men and the women are exploited. I live with Strippers I know this stuff. it takes any women down and out to get into this you would be shocked to see it for your self how chill a life style it is and how hard it is on some one doing it. most of these girls have no sense of value, its a really wild and fast way to live. I pity most of the strippers Ive known.

I think the biggest problem is the lack of self discovery whether or not you come to a real spiritual sense, or its some thing physiological you need to share with your self. just remember these companies are just machines and only do what we tell them.

I lived in rural Alaska, where I didn't have access to any major retailers or restaurants or the like. Personally, I wouldn't mind if any major company went under. It would teach Big Business that they aren't infallible, and can't take government handouts to save their kiesters. The free market system works, but not when the a-holes at the top become self-serving.

Many of the companies suffering didn't cause this economic recession but are suffering the backlash of it. I agree that those responsible should suffer the consequences, but I would feel bad for any company that went under that didn't necessarily do anything wrong. its the bankers and their sub-prime lending that I'd like to see suffer.
