What happened to Sega Dreamcast?!?!

Your stating "theories"? Well as aposed to a Hypothesis you should have some fact to back it up but all you have are things that are really cercomstantial.
I'll say this one more time. The Dreamcast never ran Microsoft CE, it was compatable. And that hardly means anything when we come to the Xbox which uses the Windows 2000 kernel.
And just a side note here, Microsoft has a layout for business so they have a mainframe computer which can run programs to dummie terminals. In this set up they have the Mainframe run most likely 2000 and I've heard the terminals run CE. So it does run on a desktop.
Now when you went over that last paragraph of mine, How did you miss the key things there, hell you even repeated them. I'm using PSO as an example, it was ported to 2 other platforms. Microsoft's goal with the Xbox was also to get game developers to come to it becuase they can offer them ease of programing (as x86 is used the world over) and they can offer them up front playment for the games.

right... you see, if you lookat my original post, all it said was that there were some odd similarities between DC and xbox. so i really don't know why you're getting your panties in such a bunch over this.Sparkfist wrote:Your stating "theories"? second paragraph. what the hell kind of relevance does this have to anything? you seem to excell at missing my point.
third paragraph still has nothing to do with anything. yay for microsoft, they can port things! whoopdedoooooo.

it is a closed source version of windows CE. they used a custom build format to start out with like this http://www.windowsembeddedkit.com/RegPa ... ion of it.
Can you supply us with a source that doesnt require registration?
Also For the love of God! Show use some form of a source that the Dreamcast does infact run Windows. We've said just it says Compatible on the case and thats our proof, where's yours?
Hackers got around the things about homebrew because the Dreamcast is set to boot if a game is loaded in the GD-rom.

Ok I ran through most of the first ten and you know what suprised me was that the first article (here) did mention the Dreamcast ran Windows CE. However his credits can not be checked for two reasons, one; is that the IGN.com one takes you to a page for looking at games and you need to be registered (take down some of the adds and I'll consider it IGN!, two; aside from the Windows link there all about games.
Now Microsoft I though would say "Yes our wonderful OS is running the Dreamcast", never saw anything remotly like it. If fact all they had in relation to the Dreamcast is about optimising the graphics of the games (coding and debugging).
I still dont see any real proof. Until we see Sega or Microsoft say "yes it does run Windows" its only compatable and Windows was use for coding games.
End of Story

why do we all of a sudden have the burden of proof? considering the dreamcast was cancelled several years ago, i have a feeling that the chances of sega or microsoft having a press release all of a sudden telling us that "yes, sparkfist, you stubborn bastard, the dreamcast did run winCE" are kinda slim. but i could be wrong, you know.Sparkfist wrote:Ok I ran through most of the first ten and you know what suprised me was that the first article (here) did mention the Dreamcast ran Windows CE.
