Do I need 3 switches or just 1 main one

right now, I only have a main power switch that is on the + wire coming from the battery...other diagrams have one for the screen and one for the N64

are those other two switches necessary?

Just make sure that switch is rated for around 3 amp. If it is, you should be ok.

Might have a fun time trying to find that out though.

Some people put more than one on so they can control what's on, like some have av output, and the screen would waste battery while playing on the tv so the turn the screen off, and I'm pretty sure some even use the av input for the screen which is why they would have one for the n64 so that it would save battery and the signal wouldn't get mixed up.

Then just one main one to turn everything on.
