I'm no expert, but I believe you can download a game to your HDD from the dashboard.eyon0 wrote:I was just wondering was there ANY truth to being able to in some way being able to make your 360 play games of the hardrive with no disk/dvd backup's/or imports WITHOUT opening it up?

Are you talking about ripping a retail game to your hard drive and playing it from there? I'm fairly sure you can do that, but you need the original disc in the drive; otherwise, what's to stop people from just renting a game or borrowing one from a friend and copying it to the hard drive?
As for how it's done, I don't know.

You can't, ya have to have the disc in the drive to play it from the HDD, yer friend is an idiot, that's what he's not telling you.eyon0 wrote:wait I know about that feature I meant how do you play back-up's WITHOUT needing the disk I know it's possible as mt friend thinx it's cool to not tell me EVEN THOUGH I MADE HIS Wii PLAY ALL GAMES/DVD'S/MP3's for free for him!!!!!!
Screwing up is one of the best learning tools, so long as the only thing you're not learning is how to screw up.

You can install the disc to the hard drive without modification. However, the disc must be in the drive to boot. Then the game runs off the hard drive.
You can hack your DVD drive so the disc can be removed without pressing eject, thus play the same game on another system without 2 copies. You need to remove the top cover of the DVD drive, then place the magnetic holder on the disc, let the game start up, then you can remove it and play on another system.
Possibly worth it if you have only one copy of the game but want to play on 2 xboxes.
