Nice bank, but...

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

So I take it we've all seen this?

Space Invaders Tabletop Arcade Cabinet Piggy Bank

Sadly, it's not fully functional; whenever you pop in a 100 yen coin, it lights up an invader. But how small do you think someone could make a fully-functioning table? Practical? No. But friggin' badass? I'd think so.

Find a screen the same size as the opening, get a plug and play, and it should be fairly easy. Bacteria has some good stuff on hacking plug and plays.

Cheap LCD, old computer, QBasic or other programming language. Yeah, something along those line.

Well, the question was how small you could make it, not how easy it would be to make a Space Invaders cocktail cabinet.

He does, that's why I'm gathering them to make a plug-and-play console (boiling the PNP games down to just cartridges and repurposing the remote-controlled toy... thing). :D
