I've recently downloaded a multiplayer "Half-Life" mod called "Science and Industry." The problem is, however, I have no idea how to get it to work. It'll install with seemingly no problems, but when it's done installing, with a checkbox selected saying "Run the game when I click 'Finish,'" an error message pops up and nothing happens. It also says it should appear in my games list on Steam, but there's nothing there.
Keep in mind this is the first mod of any kind I've downloaded and thus I'm ignorant about how to set one up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Can anyone help me install a "Half-Life" mod?

Half-Life 1 or Half-Life 2?
I think for HL1 mods, you have to load the game, and then there's a setting on the main menu for loading mods. (That's how Team Fortress starts on the GOTY edition, anyway.)
HL2 mods should just show up in Steam like any other game.

I did do a Google search first, you know. I know how irritating it can get to have people asking questions that a simple internet search can answer. The thing is that I couldn't find anything related or understandable on my first few tries, so I figured it'd just be simpler to ask here, since I know someone will be able to help, not to mention I can ask for clarification if something doesn't make sense.
