If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
I don't have the electronics knowledge you guys do (frankly most people here have far more knowledge than me in electronics!) so there is no way I could work that lot out to hack the screen board as much as you guys are. I go as far as rewiring and relocating but not working out complete components that can be removed entirely. Makes you wonder why the manufactures used so many extra components if they aren't needed, as that would have cut down production costs a bit. Never mind. Good work guys. Make sure to document everything, precisely. BTW - I know it is "fun" to reduce the board as small as possible, but apart from the challenge, frankly, IMO I don't think the board needs to be any smaller than the screen itself, as maximum, in practical terms.

I havn't had thi issue before and i cut up a bit more of the sides and just rewired the cut traces.

I already tried cutting more, didn't help. Yeah, it's either a short or a loose connection. I'll try to figure it out on my own later (cut my hand, so I can't really do anything right now), but if I don't, I'll definitely post a pic.
It is beneficial to cut the board down as far as possible. I'd like to be able to move the board to a different location like in techknotts old gamecube or further.

Fair enough. Let's see how far the board can be trimmed down to bare minimum!
Anything smaller wil end in major rewiring and is not worth it for the millimilli meters you can get from it.
Ignore the area on the left with the many wires that's a chip that needed to be replaced. As you can see i'm running it off one ka7805r chip. Seems to work perfectly I'll be getting a new cam soon so i'll post a little guide how to achieve this little mod.
By the way i tried to relocate the side(sound chip). But ended up with up messed up mobo(and i'm pretty good in soldering ). I would advise caution if you ever try it.

to cut down thw board isn't half a difficult as you would think. Only need to relocate a couple of components and rewire a couple of things nothing major. Just watch out that you don't cut through the traces on the side of the board!!
Meh, it's not really any more impressive than when you cut off the large chunk of the top (because everything else is old news) - still, nice board. If I'm in luck, I'll be able to use my finger again tommorow, and then I can continue the documentation, as well as trying that tip of yours.
Jep kyo's right it's nothing special. BUT it is still the smallest ever made! Sifus is small but not this small.
Now off to make the gamecube mobo as small as possible. But I think it can't be any smaller than i already made it. Will post pics when completly slimmed down.
the internal traces of the gamecube are just ground I heard. So you'll be able to cut off pretty much anything you want, with some rewiring. Check out techknott's cancelled GCp, that gives you a nice place to start. Good luck.
Yeah I checked his post a long time ago. At the time I was busy with my own portable and cut the mobo smaller than his. But it's just not small enough. There are parts which I should be able to cut of but whenever I do I get problems.
When I cut the digital port and gba port off I get no sound. When I cut of the av prt adn rewire the video and audio I get nothing at all(no sound and no video). Check everything with ground etc.. but everyhting seems te be fine.
At first I thought it was short but I have no idea where it could be. I'll mess about with it to see if i can get it working. Just so you know the Power on led does go on. But disc drive doesn't want to spin and no video no audio.
