Son, that big metal thing is (was?) the heatsink. If you ran the gamecube without it then you mayu have damaged it too much for repair. The disk wouldn't spin without you holding down the lid switches too.
I would suggest unplugging the lead formt he socket and leave it 10 minutes. It's worth a try, or try another gC power supply (lead)

i tried that and it didn't work.hmmmm...is there any possibility that something was knocked off the motherboard or maybe the disk drive is causing it not to work?i'm trying to unscrew this last screw on the disk drive board.you know the one that connects the ribbons.i'm just coming up with ideas you guys have any more to spare?i really want this.....vskid wrote:Put the heatsink back on, and make sure all the screw holes in the metal shielding are lined up. If they aren't, they can short, which causes the LED to come on and go off after a second. My GC did the same thing.

ok got it.now i know this next question is maybe stupid but what would you use to cut holes in the case?and how thin would i have to make the gc?zenloc wrote:It should fit. Just to be sure get the thickest one. I ordered that case awhile back for my second GCP. So it should do fine.
