If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.
I finally got my hip gear screen to run off of 4 AA's totaling 6 volts. Now i was wondering if i can run both the radica and hip gear screen with 6 volts by wiring it like this.
Will that work? Do i have to add any regulators or anything else to it?

Im in this stage of my project too!!! couple of questions: what is a DPDT switch? would it make a difference if i use a 9V battery (to save some space)? thanks!!!
DPDT switch allows you to power two different components but not at the same time. It can also be wired in a way to either power one component or switch to charge the batteries. You can get two DPDT switches for around 3 bucks at radio shack.
I'm guessing here but most likely about 1/3 less power. Thats not important, what you need to do is sping for some rechargable Ni-MH atlest 2100 capacity. These will give you a run of atleast 3 hours, and you'll save money in the long run.

that sounds cool! the reason for using AAA's is just to save some more space.
Another question though, how do you rewire the radica to bypass the light and switch board? there are 4 wires that go from the main board to the switch board and i couldnt figure out how to bypass it and remove it altogether (i'll be powering up from my battery enclosure). any help is appreciated, thanks!
