Dust invasion! Help!

I seem to have more and more problems with dust as winter progresses here in Canada. My PS3 has a coat of dust and when I blow the dust off with an air blower, it seems to "magnetize" itself and stick to the console again. Same goes with my laptop's LCD which I just cleaned off and now has some speckles in it again. As if the dust attracts on the screen like a magnet. I vacuumed cooling fans in computers and they are caked in dust. Even the floor has dust bunnies rolling on them. (Yes, I tried to clean them. No, they kept coming back.) CRT TVs are worse. As soon as they are turned off, there is a visible layer of dust on it. There are air filters in the heaters and the ports, and we had duct cleaning a few months ago. Yet the dust manages to get into my nerves and we have to spend a few hours cleaning and vacuuming off dust.

Is there anyone else experiencing this, and how do you put a stop to it?

I have one of the dustiest bedrooms in existence, so trust me, I feel your pain. Especially with having a dust-coated PS3. The only way to combat it, in my experience, is to wipe the dust stuff off of stuff with a damp rag and keep my floor vacuumed regularly. It keeps the dust manageable. Other than that, there's really nothing you can do.

Get some Swifer dusters to have on hand. They work wonderfully .

You know, all I've heard about those things is what they show on the commercials, so it's nice to know they actually work. Might look into those.

Vacuum the floor!

Please tell me you unhooked the things you're trying to blow out and cleaned them outside. Blowing the dust out of the things just blows dust into the room, where it will collect again.

Yeah, they work great. They're electro-statically charged, like your TV is when you turn it off. Be sure to the get the on-brand Swiffers, as the off-brand ES charged cloths tend to be flat, while the Swiffers have more surface area in raised ridges to trap more dust.

Also, check your filters, if they become clogged, dust will make it around the edges. If your vacuum has a filter on it, be sure to check that too.
